On 6th December 2002 the second Dirk Vandersypen Award has been presented in Antwerp (Belgium).
Afterwards there was a press conference in the Zuiderpershuis with live Latin American music from Dirk Van Esbroeck and Juan Masondo.
Betty Minne (Belgian Cabinet for Development Cooperation) highlighted the importance of the prize, Walter Vandersypen talked about his brother and the Dirk Vandersypen Award association, and jury foreman Leo De Bock (Editor-in-Chief of the Belgian Television News) announced the jury’s verdict.
Phara De Aguirre (journalist of current affairs programme TerZake on the Belgian television channel Canvas) sketched the present situation in Latin America and presented the press conference.
